2005 HUMMER H2 SUT
The Hummer H2 is a "luxury SUV" that was the first and only of its kind. 2005 was the first year of the H2 SUT. The SUT version has a short pickup bed in which the rear seats also fold down for extra versatility. It has VORTEC 6.0 L V8 generating 325 HP and 365 foot pounds of torque. "Full Time" 4 wheel drive with a number of modes depending on road conditions 4-High, 4-High Lock, which locks the front and rear axles together so they turn at the same speed when extra traction is needed such as snowy, sandy or wet conditions. "Low lock" mode locks the front and rear axles and shits to a 2.64-to-one gear ratio to provide higher torque for climbing rocks and other obstacles.
And then there is "4-Low Lock with the rear differential gears locked which sends equal torque to both rear wheels. Per the owners manual this setting is for "large rocks". I have never used that setting aside from confirming that it was operational. Truth be told I never took it off-roading, but was fortunate to have the vehicle for a number of very severe snow storms and a torrential downpours that left a multitude of cars submerged on the expressway.
The H2 performed lake a champ. If you are reading this listing and contemplating purchasing a H2 then you know the machines specs and what it is capable of. I purchased the vehicle with 44,000 miles on it. At that time I had all fluids changed (oil, trans, radiator). Oil changed regularly every 5k miles with synthetic. The vast vast majority of the miles I put on it where highway miles (as I live 85 miles round-trip from my office).
This truck has all the bells and whistles. Leather heated seats front and rear. All power everything, steering wheels controls, auto dimming rear view, cruise control, AC, "zone" temperature controls, etc.. And everything works. There are DVDs in both front headrests. And a 3rd, 24 inch (I think) screen that drops down from the velvet headliner. installed new DVD player in rear counsel so back seat passengers can use, complete with wireless headphones (a must have with kids!). . All 3 screens and even the front radio will play the video. The Kenwood stereo accepts both CDs and DVDs. A DVD playing from the stereo can be watched on the rear screens (as well as on the stereo itself). You can even watch a DVD on the stereo while the rear passengers watch a different video played from the rear DVD player!
The truck has two alternators. One is dedicated to the amplifier for one of the best sound system I have ever heard in a car. The factory Boze speakers were actually upgraded to "Diamond". Under the rear seats are additional Diamond components ("crossovers", amplifiers, surge protectors, etc), very professionally installed. In the truck bed is a waterproof custom box containing a 12 inch subwoofer. The power from the amplifier to the subwoofer can be adjusted independently from the stereo itself via a readily accessible illuminated dial.
The setup is perfect because the custom box subwoofer is capable of just an incredible amount of bass, and I will often literally dial it up or down depending on the type of music played. The sound system on this Hummer rivals a darn concert hall! Not just based on the ear bleeding volume level it is capable of, but on its utterly amazing full, rich sound. According to the owner of a local company that specializes in high end custom car audio systems, it is estimated that over $15,000.00 was spent on the audio system. Hands down, the H2 has THE BEST sounding stereo I have ever heard in a car. I purchased a 2017 Lincoln Continental earlier this year.
I splurged and went with the upgraded premium sound package, a $4,800.00 option consisting of a 19-speaker Revel Ultima Audio System. That Lincoln sounds awesome, but does not even come close to the Hummer.
Other additions Highlights include
- Rear, self-leveling air springs,
- New "back up" camera that can also be activated via a toggle switch while in drive (for assistance changing lanes or maneuvering in tight traffic) added kept on while driving the vehicle via a toggle switch,
- Remote starter (both key fob and phone app),
- TWO complete sets of wheels
tires. 22-inch black powder coated M.O.B. rims & 17 inch black Moto-Metal rims. Both have Nitto Terra Grappler tires on them. Terra Grapplers are arguably one of the best truck tires on the market with aggressive styling and excellent off road capability. Note that some off-road tires can generate "road noise" when driven on the highway. These tires arguably do the same, but you hear zero road noise in the Hummer (luxury vehicle and all)
- Newer, hard, locking Tonneau cover,
- I also have running boards and the double roof rack that come with the vehicle in garage,
- Powered rear "privacy glass",
- Rear and front tow capability (front complete with OEM extender adapter),
- Optima "spiral cell" battery,
- Front light bar (with toggle),
- 32 gallon gas tank with locking fuel door.
